Laura Hanna is a British-Egyptian performer and creative, born in London. Her professional acting career began after graduating from LAMDA in 2011 and includes work across theatre, film and radio. You can find her performance CV here.
She is an award-winning vocalist, performing and collaborating with musicians across various genres, including classical, pop, Arabic and Brazilian music. She sings with folk-pop band Guise whose first album, Youngest Daughter, was released in April 2022.
Laura recently began writing, with poetry published in the anthology We Wrote In Symbols: Love And Lust By Arab Women (Saqi Books), Heartache And Hope: Voices Of A Pandemic (Birchmoon Press) and the play text of A History Of Water In The Middle East by Sabrina Mahfouz (Methuen Drama). She is an alumni of the School of HighTide and the Royal Court Writers’ Group and is working on her first full-length play.
She is also a coach and co-founded The Pitch Process in 2016, offering 1-2-1 and group coaching in communication & presentation skills. She has designed workshops for a variety of organisations, including businesses, schools, women’s networks, charities and prisons.
A dedicated mover, Laura is a qualified pole dance instructor and instructor of capoeira. Laura’s movement practises inform her creative projects and professional approach.
